Your environment

At Société Générale, you will be joining Global Banking & Investors Solutions (GBIS), our business that brings together Corporate and Investment Banking activities, Private Banking activities, and Asset Management and Investor Services. You will support the Communications Department, whose role is to promote and protect the bank’s image and strategy on behalf of the GBIS Executive Committee, its business lines and support functions, the regions and the Group, drawing on specialist expertise and forging close relationships with our customers worldwide.

The Global Technical Services (GTS) division manages the IT infrastructure for the firm. The GTS Montreal Solution Center (MSC) team is searching for a VIE to assist in developing web based applications and scripts. The VIE will be asked to develop client-facing web apps that help automate IT processes and workflows. Knowledge of web development and database technologies is required. The candidate will need to be proficient in documenting all processes throughout the project.

Your role

Your main responsibilities will be:

Proficient with Angular (more generally MEAN stack)
Proficient at GUI design and UX (user experience) with JQuery libraries
API and automation oriented mindset
Good with SQL databases
Python, Perl, Bash and PowerShell could be a nice to have
Meet and present to internal clients to collect requirements


The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montreal is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see .

Your profile

Graduate from Engineering school, Business School or University with a master degree in Computer Science.

You ideally have a similar previous experience.

You are fluent in English and French.

You are proficient with MS Office, SQL.

The position will improve the candidates’ communication and project management skills. The challenging technical environment will also allow the candidate to work on many different technologies from databases, Windows/Linux servers to different development scripting languages. The team is a transversal functioning team, so working with other teams is essential to success
