Overview

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic junior Stress Engineer to support and expand our existing AKKA team in the Space sector. As part of the stress and thermal department, you will help provide waveguide structural analyses of payload components as well as design validation on the next generation of telecommunication, military and scientific satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis of payload components using FEM/FEA methods

Analyse for performance against random vibration and thermoelastic environments to validate designs or propose new variants

Work to established procedures & processes
Report findings in meetings and by written reports
Provide support for the analysis of metallic Additive Manufacturing products
Skills & Knowledge:

Essential

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Demonstrable Finite Element Analysis experience

Analysis of dynamic and thermoelastic problems

Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with both client and AKKA team

Fluent spoken and written English with a high level of attention to detail

Desirable

Thermal analysis experience

Work in aerospace or other high technology industries

Knowledge of AM Design/Optimisation

Trained/experience in NASTRAN, FEMAP
