There are currently 35 members of staff in Sydney, representing 10 different nationalities, from different business lines and corporate functions of the Group. This includes 15 listed derivatives sales and traders using real-time order management systems to trade on Asian Pacific exchanges. It is a member of ASX24 and as such provides support to other SG APAC locations executing and clearing on ASX 24. It also supports co-location infrastructure on the ASX for some of its hedge fund clients.
Department Description :
The Societe Generale Australia IT team supports the local infrastructure, applications and users. The position involves working closely with listed derivatives traders and remotely with IT teams across various locations (US and Asia Pacific).
A desktop support & infrastructure engineer is required to support SG Australia’s infrastructure, critical applications, end users and clients.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Incident management (L1 / L2)
- Request management (L1 / L2)
- Crisis management
- Change management
- Data centre management (issues, review and planning)
- Trading application support
- Liaising with third-party providers and vendors
- BCP / DR planning
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Sydney is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
Graduate from Engineering school, Business School or University with a master degree in Information System or IT.
You have knowledge of Desktop, IT infrastructure and ITIL.
A first experience in IT support or banking industry would be a plus.
You are fluent in English.
