MONTHLY REMUNERATION: 2465€ (Non-contractual allowance laid down by decree and order, whose amount may vary in particular depending on the changes to the reference scale, the location of the position and the cases for deductions set out in the texts)


Eramet Marietta, Inc. is a metallurgical manufacturing facility located in Marietta, Ohio. A subsidiary of Eramet Group, a metals and mining company based in Paris, France, Eramet Marietta, Inc. has roots in the Mid-Ohio Valley dating back to the early 1950's.

Located on a site that was originally built as part of a vast industrial facility owned by Union Carbide, Eramet Marietta is only one of two manganese manufacturers currently operating in the United States.

The company operates 2 electrode arc furnaces and a manganese oxygen refining unit.

Eramet Marietta Inc. prides itself on producing and supplying high quality manganese alloys for the North American steel industry, advancing operational and environmental technologies and always working safely first.

Poste et missions:

Main purpose of the position

This position will be an assistant to the Process Engineers. The Intern will assist in development and implementation of plans and programs which contribute to technical activities related to ferroalloys operations.

Major challenges faced / points of complexity

The Intern will be given the opportunity to see how classroom lessons are applied in an industrial setting.
Production units are complex, multivariate processes that are challenging to maintain optimal performance. Process understanding and further development is vital to successful operations.

Major Responsibilities / outputs

¦ Learn the process of day-to-day technical operation of production units.

¦ Develop an awareness of high carbon ferromanganese safety standards.

¦ Assist in planning and implementation of technical activities relating to production unit operations in co-ordination with plant senior staff technical personnel.

¦ Assist in updating raw material consumption forecasts for production units.

¦ Develop or improve standard operating procedures for production units.

¦ Assist in monthly inventory of consumables.

¦ As required, train operating personnel in technical areas related to assigned projects.

¦ Write a report on a special project to be assigned by senior staff.

¦ Perform other duties as assigned.


Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Self-motivated and Self Controlled

Computer and specific software proficiency
